more about the jungle

So, here are a few photos from our 10 day trip to our future jungle village home.

Lots of walking and visiting. This lady is saying, "Oh my word! My arms are killing me!!! Here, take him back!"

Aunt Irene soaks us time with our amazing fat little baby.

The kids rescued a baby bird from the maw of their kitty cat. Here they are with the little birdy.

One night, we had time for a campfire. So fun!

Somehow we felt like sitting around a fire. The kids had a blast, roasting the marshmallows we brought back with us from our time in the US.

 Feeding the baby bison.

 Chatting with visitors

 Haircuts for all!

 Hanging a gutter

Eating together. The kids had so much fun. 10 days of nonstop play!

Little Q got used to the slower pace of jungle living without a hitch.

Our daily walk to visit neighbors

 and jump off their stumps

and walk until the sun sets

Lots of meeting time with our team as we planned for the future of our ministry among the Kendawangan.

"This kid is no good at smiling or laughing! What is the deal? Most kids by now are pretty good at that." On the second day she came to visit, he gave her a huge grin and his adorable giggle.... which sort of made her day.

And then one very long, sunny, dusty hot day in the jeep, and one commercial flight, and we were back
"in town" again! Sounds easier than it is. :0)
