Back to It
After a grueling car ride yesterday that took about 12 hours (and several motion-sickness bags... blech), we bumped into our village again. Today was all about unpacking, cleaning, meeting up with old friends, and trying to get started in a new/familiar routine. Here are a few shots from today.
An empty box becomes a favorite new toy for my happy little boy (who is...unbelievably... teething AGAIN!!!! STILL!!!!!)
My new oven!!! YAY! So thankful for my new little aluminum box!
And this. Well, this is a little token of something that feels like friendship. This is a traditional Dayak shield that one of our neighbor, friends recently made for Phil. One very interesting and touching thing to note is the cross at the top of the design. This is (obviously?) not part of the traditional design. He added it in because he knows that we are Christians - and he wanted to make it personal to us. It is now hanging in our kitchen in a place of honor, and every time we see it we remember to pray for our neighbors and the relationships we're hoping to build here.
