butcher's baby

After years of living with the feelings of guilt for all the carnage that her father had made his very occupation - the butcher's daughter attempts to make amends...

...the probelm yet remains however that she is unable to save the chicken's life. The wound is indeed fatal, even though her suturing job is actually quite textbook.

...and here, while the professor merely looks on with apparent approval, the butcher's daughter is being brutally stabbed by another student, - without just cause...other than the botched good will emergency first aid attempt on the chicken with the badly injured leg.

the wild life

P.J.'s roommate, Phillip, behind a very fat and very old looking snapping turtle that lives under a stump in the lake....still not sure how the boys pryed him out of his mucky home...

P.J.'s other roommate, Kent holding the same turtle....these guys.

...Aaaaand our same friend, Phillip, holding up a friendly little armadillo that was harmlessly wandering through camp the other night. We've not captured photos of the giant turkey vultures that seem to constantly circle over head (making us wonder what they are waiting for) - or the scorpion i sucked up in the vacuum the other day -or the legions of deer that wait in ambush as we drive the dark and windy road back to the school after a night out. But those are some of the little (and not so little) creatures that we've been seeing around these parts, so we thought we'd share the fun. :0)

newest digs

Well, so - lots of you have asked to see what our apartment here at New Tribes in Missouri looks like....Here are a few shots of it... in all of its glory. We are happy to have a place to oursleves :0)

Here is the dining/living room/kitchen...and that's the commode there in the corner on the left. We're excited to have a toilet all to ourselves!

Here is P.J. and Phil on one of our moving days in August...Phil had had enough of moving and unpacking, and i think it was almost bed-time...same for P.J. obviously.
This is our favorite corner - Phil loves it for the books - and i, for the primo reading spot next to the window. We each spend a great deal of time in Memere's chair studying - Phil studies for his Moody classes - i study for phonetics and piano lessons. (notice the proximity of the phone...some "studying" gets accomplished there too)
Here is my OTHER favorite spot :0) Here's my kitchen girls! (and i guess for all you weirdo guys who care about that stuff...). Yay for my own kitchen!! -equipped with...well, you can pretty well see all that on your own. Phil's favorite piece of kitchenware is the pizza pan - thanks again mom! My favorite kitchen piece has got to be my friend Betty Crocker - she's a new wife's new best friend (for kitchen work anyways)...two more points for mom. :0)
