fall days

We've been very busy these days packing to move - and helping P.J. and Donna move - and helping my parents move. But not too busy for our growing machine....I mean adorable baby girl.

Fun Fact: She weighs 20 pounds at 3 and a half months

Hanging out with Daddy - Nadia can almost sit up on her own.

She is also a biker-babe. No one messes with her while she's on Uncle P.J.'s bike.

Aaaaand, she just so darn precious!

Here is that little giggle I mentioned last month.

what does this mean?

We've been asked quite a bit since Nadia was born what her name means and why we chose it.

Nadia (Russian) = Hope
Renee (French) = Rebirth
Svoboda (Czech) = Liberty
Or as Phil put it: "There is hope for rebirth to those who want to live free."

weekenders

Here are some of the latest of our little one, who is 3 months already. I haven't gotten it on video yet, but she laughs out loud now, and it IS the cutest thing I have ever heard.

Sunday at Memere's and Papa's. Something is almost always funny. For us, it's her hair...yikes.

But sometimes not even mommy's cuddles can't make the screaming stop.

4 Generations

Nadia and I had lunch today with my grandmother and her's. Here is a photo of all 4 generations on my mother's side.

Good Job Uncle Tim

Tim is the winner. His guess was the closest to being right, even though he didn't exacly GUESS - he did some research. The Indonesian saying below generally is translated as meaning:
"Ah, what can you do? The goat poop is always round".

little contest

How about a little prize? The first to guess what the following common Indonesian phrase means (or generally means) will get a prize. (I can't promise that it won't be lame...but a prize is a prize, right?). Leave a comment with your guess. The first person to guess right will get a prize. I'll give you all until the 8th of October.

One caveat: No one who speaks Indonesian may guess.

Here is the phrase: "Apa boleh buat tahi kambing bulat bulat."

Here is a photo as a little clue

Have fun!

nadia does the fair

We took Nadia to the fair last week, not sure how it would go. It seems everything is an experiment these days. You never really know how an 11 week old will do at these things. We actually had a great time, and Nadia went to bed that night one very sleepy little baby.

She met her first goat, and he tried to eat her sock. (outfit courtesy of my cousin Lindsey)

Taking a nap on daddy in the Baby Bjorn (we say b-Jorn)

Taking another nap the next morning. We thought it was so cute that her hood slipped down like this. No wonder she fell asleep - nothing to look at! (outfit courtesy of Auntie Diane...Lindsey's mom - there are lots of crafty people in my family :0)
