boys are gross

OH, he'll just kill me for posting this. But i have to. We have a weekly...er...discussion about Phil's feet. They. Are. Filthy.

Always.

I make the kids wash their feet before bed, i wash mine every time i have a minute, and i think Phil washes his once a month. (To be fair, it's hard to keep clean feet here with all the mud - but still...)

And this is IN TOWN!!!! With tile floors and cement roads! We are DOOMED!!! (in the village it's all dirt all the time).

And my other Mr. Nasty here can't help himself. Because of his cleft palate issue, there is no stopping a simple sneeze from turning into a disgusting storm of snot and baby food. Ew. Check out his leg. He also got it all over my shirt 3 feet away - and on the curtain behind me. Yikes.

Natalannya

As we pack up (yes... we are still actually packing), we've been also trying to keep Christmas an important thing to celebrate. This last weekend was our last in town, and we went to our church's annual celebration. It's a big affair, and every one gets dressed up. We happen to be no exception.

Playing with some editing software, trying to save this pretty, but washed out photo of our pretty little girl, and the little brother trying to get down to play with her.

 Ready to go!

A little grumpy to have her photo taken before hand - but she got over it.

 Singing with the kids!

My little bitty man, napped through the service. :0) Sweaty, but lovely.

Hopefully before the week is out, we'll sign our visas, move out of our temporary digs, and move to our jungle home! We'll keep you posted as those things progress. Maybe we'll have time for one more post before the big move.

haircut, crack, desert storm

What do these things have in common? Oh, nothing.

Here's little miss' new hair cut.

In this one she is doing something we call the bumslap. We don't like it, and don't allow it - But her face in this photo is pretty darling - because it shows exactly how funny she thinks she's being. :)

Today we made some Christmas cookies - kind of. I don't know exactly what they're called, but one of our friends thinks they're so addicting that they should be called simply, crack. We've started calling them Crackle instead. Maybe someone out there knows what they should be called? It's saltine crackers, topped with melted butter and brown sugar, then topped with chocolate (Dove dark from the US!!! - hence the heap of melty chocolate foil wrappers. :).

My helpy helper reveling in her chocolately mess.

My sleepy 5 month old taking a snooze. :) He's so darling.

Fresh after a bath, he dons my favorite onsie. I call it, The Schwartzkoff. It's uncanny, is it not? The resemblance, i mean. :0)

T3YO Lately

There is never a dull moment in our crazy house. Between the giant 5 month old, living on the equator, packing to live in a muddy jungle and trying to raise a 3 year old... we are exhausted - and nearly always laughing.

Last week, i drew a big old sun for her to color. Check out his insanely happy face. I can hear his wild laughter... This just makes me laugh and laugh. Every time i look at it (it's on the fridge) i chuckle at how creepy he looks. See his eyes? Such detail. And teeth? And unibrow? And soul patch? I love it!

The story is unclear as to how it happened. A few of the versions sound downright impossible. Suffice it to say she got gum in her hair. Very sticky gum. A haircut was in order.

Not that she minded one bit. "NOW i won't get a RASH on my NECK, mom!!! You know? When i get all hot and sweaty?? I won't get a RASH! Yay!!!! Um - can i have chocolate milk, please mom, can i??"

I'll post a photo soon of the finished product. For now, i'll let this goofy little face haunt you. :0)
